After exploring Marrakech, transfer to the Atlas Mountains for a few days of hiking before climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in Morocco, which has been attracting mountaineers for centuries.
Tour Plan
Day 1: Marrakech Tour
Discover the true essence of Marrakech as your local guide takes you on an unforgettable journey through the city's main attractions. From the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square to the tranquil Jardin Secret, immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and scents of the city. Marvel at the Koutoubia Mosque and explore the Bahia Palace, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture. Navigate the souk's maze and visit the community oven for a taste of local life. End your day at the Museum of Marrakech to delve into the city's rich cultural heritage.
Day 2: Marrakech to Tizi Oussem
After breakfast, meet your guide and take a 90-minute transfer to the Atlas Mountains. Meet your team and begin the 5-hour hike to Tizi Oussem, with a lunch break at Tizi n'Tasht pass. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 3: Tizi Oussem to Aroumd via Tizi Mezzek
After breakfast, continue hiking over Tizi Mezzek, at 2,500 meters, before descending to Aroumd for an overnight stay at a guesthouse. Enjoy a mid-day lunch break.
Day 4: Aroumd to Base Camp
Ascend the beautiful Mizane Valley, passing the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, before arriving at the Mount Toubkal base camp. After a 4-hour hike, enjoy lunch and a relaxing afternoon. Stay overnight in a tent.
Day 5: Climb Mount Toubkal
Today is the big day: the ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal. Start early for this challenging trek. The route involves scree fields, boulders, and rocks, making the hike challenging due to altitude. Take your time, stay hydrated, and rest as needed. The reward at the summit is the spectacular view from the top! After some time at the summit, enjoy a snack before descending back to base camp for lunch.
Day 6: Walk Down to Imlil and Transfer to Marrakech
The 4-5 hour descent to Imlil takes you through Sidi Chamharouch, a small mountain settlement. Cross a stream and continue the descent towards Aroumd and Imlil. Transfer back to Marrakech for a farewell dinner and party.
Day 7: Tour Ends
Depart for home.
